Crows Nest Goombungee shooter Ashley Bidgood continued his fine 2014 form with a victory in the Beaudesert Rifle Club annual prize shoot on Sunday, July 6.

He was the only competitor in a strong field of more than 70 shooters to record a possible score of 150 – 30 bullseyes in the 30 shot match.

At  his last outing, Ashley was a close third in the Australian Championships in Brisbane last month.

 

In good conditions for the three-range contest at Beaudesert Mirko Teglasi from Brisbane posted an outstanding 23 centre bulls, but with a dropped shot at 500 metres had to settle for second placing.  Top North Arm competitor Colin Cole was third, also one shot down, on 149.18.

 

 

 Darling Downs shooter Jim Breeze won B Grade and Tina Bollenbach from Albert and District topped C Grade.

Beaudesert shooter Lee Robinson posted the top range score of the day, a fine 50.9 at 500 yards.

Scope class shooters were also in great form with Brisbane’s Jenni Hausler winning the F Open and Central’s Jason Mayers the F Target Rifle class with possible scores of 180.

Phil Brook from Brisbane dropped two shots to post the winning F Standard score.
