The Bidgood clan from Crows Nest-Goombungee was out in force at Wondai at the weekend -- Ashley and his father Max and uncles Neville and Dennis. Ashley shot a possible 150.18 to win the Gordon Iszlaub Memorial Shield. Dennis finished fifth in A Grade and Nev was a close second in the .303 shoot held on Saturday.Crows Nest shooter Ashley Bidgood continued his impressive 2012 form winning the South Burnett annual prize shoot at the weekend with his second successive possible score.

He shot an aggregate 150.18 to take the Gordon Iszlaub Memorial Shield -- the same score which won his own club open at Crows Nest last month.

He finished a clear winner of the South Burnett competition shot over 300, 500 and 600 yards at Wondai Rifle Club on Sunday. Blair Tessman from Jandowae edged out Ross Hoey from Pratten for second place with scores of 147.16 and 147,14 respectively.

Rob Bondfield from Southern Downs, a previous winner at Wondai, had to settle for fourth placing this year on 146.18.

The popular South Burnett event which attracted a strong field from across southern and central Queensland, was shot under heavy overcast conditions with some tricky breezes.

Monto’s Bevan Goshnick was a clear winner of the keenly-contested F Standard scope class which attracted a field of 13 competitors.

Dalby-Tara shooter Julie McEwan beat her husband Cameron by a point to take out the F Open event.

 

Brian Long who shoots with Pittsworth Rifle Club, won a .303 rifle competition held on Saturday from Nev Bidgood of Crows Nest-Goombungee.

Crows Nest won the teams full bore match with Wondai Rifle Club teams taking out both F Open and F Standard events.

The next event on the rifle shooting circuit is the one-day prize meeting at Beaudesert on this Sunday, April 1.

Julie McEwan and her husband Cameron were pleased with their effort to quinella the F Standard scope class at Wondai.
