QRA Prize Meetings - The Clive Thiedeke Trophy

Many QRA Clubs and District Rifle Associations conduct annual Prize Meetings, usually over one or two days, where members can enjoy the spirit of competition alongside members of other clubs.   These prize meetings are open to eligible members of Fullbore Clubs affiliated with a State Association, which is a member of the National Rifle Association of Australia (NRAA), or the International Council of Fullbore Rifle Associations (ICFRA).

Attendance at DRA Prize Meetings entitles QRA members to automatically enter the Clive Thiedeke Aggregate which consists of scores from the following competitions.   The dates are promulgated on the QRA Calendar.

QRA District Rifle Association Range 2008/2009 Compulsory Shoot
Western District Rifle Association Muckadilla May
Southern District District Rifle Association Warwick May
Metropolitan District Rifle Association Belmont August
Darling Downs District Rifle Association Toowoomba October
Lilley District Rifle Association North Arm October
South East District Rifle Association Beaudesert March
South Burnett District Rifle Association Wondai March
Central Qld District Rifle Association Raglan April 2008/9 Compulsory

The Clive Thiedeke Competition was first held in 1988 with Barcaldine being the compulsory shoot.   The long term aim is to encourage shooters to support the District Rifle  Association Prize Meetings throughout the State.

Points are awarded for the Prize Meeting Aggregate placing at each shoot as follows:

Place Points Place Points
1st 25 6th 20
2nd 24 7th 19
3rd 23 8th 18
4th 22 9th 17
5th 21 10th 16
    Rest 15

The scores for any three shoots plus the compulsory shoot are aggregated to give a possible score of 100.   From 2006/07, up to the top 15 places will be awarded a badge.   The badges will be presented at the Queens each year during the Duncan Lead Up presentation.
