In 1982 Percy Pavey, arguably Australia's greatest full bore rifle shooter, was an inaugural inductee to the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame at Longreach in Queensland.  Longreach is only an hours drive on from the Barcaldine Rifle Range.   The range is situated about two minutes from the centre of historic Barcaldine, the acknowledged birth place of the Australian Labour Party and the "Tree of Knowledge", a 150 year old ghost gum which was deliberately poisoned in 2006.

Friday - Sunday 1-3 June 2007 - Coaching and Simulation Training

Over the weekend QRA State Coach Meredith Nestor, QRA Executive Officer Rex Wigney and QRA President John Johnstone enjoyed the warm hospitality of the members of the Barcaldine Rifle Club.   Club members enjoy shooting everything, rimfire, full bore, benchrest, F Class and this club has lots of talented juniors.
