The annual prize meeting for the Ipswich & District Rifle Club was held on Sunday 22nd July and contested over 2 ranges at 600 meters & 1 at 800 meters.
The weather was fairly mild for Ripley & the shooting results very tight.
A total of 52 competitors attended on the day to keep all involved very busy. Shooters travelled from many local & country clubs to participate in this event, as well as several from NSW. Clubs represented at this meeting were Albert & District, Beaudesert, Brisbane, Crows Nest Goombungee, Darling Downs, Gatton Glenore Grove, Gold Coast, Goondiwindi, Grafton, Murwillumbah, North Arm, & Pittsworth.
Winners on the day were - A Grade Geoff Long (Pittsworth), B Grade Ron Bowman (Gatton G’Grove), C Grade Gary Morrison (Ipswich), Scope F Class Open Kelvin Bell (Brisbane), Scope F Class Standard Glenn Rush (Ipswich), Under 25 Cathy Smith (Brisbane Mariners), Top Lady Jenni Hausler (Brisbane), & Veteran Aggregate Max Bidgood (Crows Nest Goombungee).
The numerous trophies, prize money and badges were presented to their respective winners by QRA Councillor Andy Mayfield..
